Call for Editors for Standards for Critical Care and Specialty Transport

ASTNA is seeking two to three qualified individuals to serve as editors of the second edition Standards for Critical Care and Specialty Transport

The editors are responsible for reviewing and updating the contents and references to ensure accuracy, currency, and compliance with CAMTS accreditation requirements.


  • Current membership in ASTNA

  • Active involvement in critical care transport nursing

  • Publications or educational content development experience

  • Knowledge of CAMTS accreditation requirements and schedule for updates

  • Commitment to lead the project and participate fully in project activities

    Principal Responsibilities

  • Review current content and references

  • Identify content areas in need of revision and/or updating

  • Recruit and monitor the work of chapter authors

  • Approve revisions and finalize content

  • Adhere to project schedules and deadlines

  • Participate and/or facilitate project conference call

Publication Editor Application Questionnaire



Please consider this information when completing the questionnaire: Editors are responsible to review an existing ASTNA publication and recommend revisions and/or develop new content. For new ASTNA publications, editors are responsible for developing contents as directed by the ASTNA Publications Committee. In addition, editors are responsible for assisting with recruitment of volunteer content expert authors, monitoring and guiding authors during development, and for reviewing, approving, and finalizing content developed for the publication according to established schedules and publications deadlines. Other responsibilities may include reviewing product design and marketing initiatives for the product. Editors are required to communicate closely with the ASNTA Publications Committee and the National Office. This position requires knowledge of planning and scheduling, skill in the use of personal computers, ability to evaluate and edit copy, ability to develop and prepare copy for printing and reproduction, mediation skills. Expect time commitment of 10/hours per week until publication completion.
