The Bereavement Fund was established in 1999 to remember colleagues who have given their lives in the line of duty. While we wish there was no need for us to grieve the loss of a colleague who has died while in the course of transporting patients, we know it as a sad fact of our profession.
Your contribution will be added to others so that ASTNA may provide a meaningful financial donation in memory of colleagues who have been killed in the pursuit of caring for patients in transport. These contributions are set aside for this purpose and not put into the general operating budget. A donation from the Memorial Fund will be sent to funds already established in the name of the nurse or the family, or according to the wishes of the estate.
It is the intent of ASTNA to show our compassion, express our grief and to demonstrate our support as an association in time of tragedy or sorrow. Your contribution will further our mission and allow us to offer what comfort we can.
